About the course Academic English

Are you sometimes unsure whether you’re expressing yourself clearly? In the Academic English course, you’ll work on your academic writing and presentation skills. This will help you improve your academic performance, make giving presentations in English easier, and save you time on assignments.
In 8 Academic English lessons:
- you’ll expand your academic vocabulary;
- you’ll quickly learn how to analyze academic articles and extract the most important information from them;
- you’ll improve your academic writing style based on personalized feedback;
- you will practice constructing and organizing academic texts;
- you’ll learn how to use ChatGPT to structure texts;
- you will practice giving academic presentations;
- you’ll speak English more fluently so you won’t have to search for the right words as much;
- Develop self-study strategies so you know exactly how to best manage your time while studying.

Approach
During this interactive course, there will be individual assignments, but you will also work in pairs or small groups. During the lessons you will receive a lot of feedback from your teacher and from your fellow students, both on your written work and on your presentations. Giving and receiving feedback to other participants is part of our didactics and you will be guided in this process as well.
Teaching Materials
For this course, we use the book “50 Steps to Improving Your Academic Writing. Before the start of the course, we will inform you how to easily order the teaching materials so that you can start your class well prepared.
Teachers
You will be taught by an experienced instructor with expertise in developing academic English language skills. You will receive targeted feedback on your writing and presentations so that you make rapid progress and demonstrably improve your skills.
Certificate of Participation
You will receive a certificate of participation from us if you have actively participated in at least 80% of the meetings.
