German 2 course (A2 → A2+)

Do you already have some knowledge of German and do you want to take your language skills to a higher level? Or have you taken the German level 1 course and would you like to further develop your German language skills? In the German level 2 course you work towards language level A2+.
About German 2
In the German level 2 course, you will practise having conversations, expand your German vocabulary and learn grammar. Ideal for a German-language study or when communicating with German-speaking business contacts. In addition, as in the German level 1 course, we also cover German culture.
This course follows on German level 1, but can also be taken separately if you have A2 level. Not sure what your language level is? Then take our free placement test.
Learning goals
In the German level 2 course you work towards language level A2+.
After completing this course:
- you are able to express yourself well in everyday conversations
- you can read and write simple German texts
- are you ready for German level 3.
Method
- The teaching method we use in this course is the book ‘Spektrum’ for language level A2+. This book is developed for adult learners. In addition, it contains additional online exercises that allow you to practise with the lesson material. This is the same book we use for the German Level 1 course.
- Each lesson starts with discussing and briefly reviewing the previous meeting. After that you will work alternately in class, in groups or individually on interactive assignments. During the lessons, you will regularly practise your conversational skills in pairs.
Time investment
- The German 2 course consists of 9 sessions of 1,5 hours at Babel in Utrecht or in the virtual classroom.
- To ensure that you learn as much as possible from the classes, you should expect to spend approximately 2 to 3 hours per week on self-study. You will receive teaching materials and assignments for this purpose. During the meetings, you will of course have the opportunity to ask questions.
Practical
- The teacher will speak German. So you will be immersed in the language you want to learn.
- You can order the necessary book for this course via our website’s Order Books page. The method contains a lot of (extra) online learning material. You should make sure to have the book before the start of the first lesson.
- You will receive a certificate if you attend at least 8 out of the 9 sessions.
