Learning goals

  • you can speak and write about everyday subjects in German.
  • you will have developed a solid linguistic basis for further development.
  • you are ready for German level 2.

Method

  • The teaching method we use in this course is the book ‘Spektrum’ for language level A2+. This book is developed for adult learners. In addition, it contains additional online exercises that allow you to practise with the lesson material.
  • Each lesson starts with discussing and briefly reviewing the previous meeting. After that you will work alternately in class, in groups or individually on interactive assignments. During the lessons, you will regularly practise your conversational skills in pairs.

Time investment

  • German 1 consists of 9 sessions of 1,5 hours at Babel in Utrecht or in the virtual classroom.
  • To ensure that you learn as much as possible from the classes, you should spend approximately 2 to 3 hours per week on self-study. You will receive teaching materials and assignments for this purpose. During the meetings, you will of course have the opportunity to ask questions.

Practical
