About the Business Dutch course

In this Business Dutch (B2) course, you’ll learn to better understand the Dutch communication style so you can navigate work situations more effectively. We’ll practice various situations you might encounter at work with your Dutch colleagues, clients, or customers. The focus is on improving your speaking skills and expanding your vocabulary so you can express yourself more easily and with greater impact. In addition, we’ll review a number of grammatical topics, such as indirect questions, the use of “zullen” and “zouden,” and relative clauses.

In the lessons, you’ll learn:

  • how to give and receive feedback
  • how to take and defend a position
  • how to participate in meetings
  • how to listen actively and ask follow-up questions
  • how to structure information
  • how to give a (short) presentation

In this course, you’ll improve your communication skills so that, in your current or future job, you can respond more quickly, clearly, and persuasively to your Dutch conversation partners.

What is the difference between this Business Dutch (B2) course and the course Advanced Dutch (B2+ and C1)?

The Business Dutch (B2) course focuses on work-related communication situations, while the advanced courses cover general topics and situations.

How do I know which Dutch language level suits me?

To make sure you enrol at the right level, you can take our free placement test. This test will help you assess your current level of Dutch. Once you’ve completed it, the test will be marked by one of our experienced teachers, who will provide you with personalised feedback. That way, you’ll know exactly which level suits you best.

Can I catch up on a missed Dutch class?

Unfortunately, in group courses it is not possible to make up a missed lesson, because the lessons take place at fixed times for the whole group. Through the lesson materials, homework and lesson plan in MyBabel, you can work through the missed material independently so that you can continue to follow the course well.

Can I pay for my Dutch course in installments?

You pay the course fee in a single payment. You can do this upon registration via iDEAL, credit card, or by having your employer pay the invoice.

What are the advantages of a group language course?

A group language course offers the opportunity to learn and practice with others. You benefit from interactive lessons, learn from the questions and experiences of fellow students, and have plenty of opportunity to use the language actively. In addition, the group dynamic often provides extra motivation and a pleasant learning environment.

What is a virtual classroom?

A virtual classroom is a live online language course in which you take lessons together with a teacher and other students. You participate via Zoom or Teams, for example, and actively practice during the lesson. This combines the interaction of a group lesson with the convenience of online learning. Many students choose this form because of its flexibility.
