Would you like to learn Dutch Sign Language? We offer courses at four levels, from levels 1 and 2 (AB1) to levels 3 and 4 (AB2). Whether you’re just starting out or already have some experience, these courses will help you master the language. Classes are held in Utrecht, where you’ll actively engage with other students. Sign Language Course for Beginners
In this course, you’ll be introduced to sign language. This course is ideal if you’d like to connect with deaf and hard-of-hearing people, whether for personal or professional reasons. This course is suitable for people who are curious about a completely different way of communicating, one that is visual and expressive.
What are the beginner classes like?
The language of instruction during the sessions is sign language. In the first class, you may still ask questions verbally. In subsequent classes, all communication will be in sign language, but you may also use gestures if you don’t know the signs. This is done to minimize disruptions to visual communication. If there are moments when there is no other option, drawing or writing is also an option for asking a question or making something clear.
