Maud Beersmans

I love language and culture. After studying Sociolinguistics and Language Teaching, I became an NT2 teacher; I have now been teaching for over 30 years and am the (co-)author of De opmaat, De sprong and De finale. I love the social aspect of my work because I meet people from different backgrounds and we always have plenty of interesting topics to discuss. I do my best to help my students achieve their learning goals and feel at home in the Netherlands and with the Dutch language. In my lessons, I believe it’s important to keep things varied, ensure everyone gets enough attention, and that we have fun too.

Thanks to my many years of experience, I have a good understanding of the challenges my students face and the questions they’d like answers to. Yet (fortunately) I’m still occasionally surprised by a question from a student who’s noticed something in the Dutch language.
