About Dutch level 1 course (A0 → A1-) - e-learning

Do you want to be well-prepared for your stay in the Netherlands? Or are you already in the Netherlands and want to learn Dutch and plan your own study sessions? In this interactive e-learning course, we focus primarily on expanding your vocabulary and cover practical topics you’ll encounter in your daily life. You’ll learn how to make small talk in Dutch and practice situations like buying or ordering something.

Dutch in 4 themes:

  • have simple conversations in Dutch;
  • you know what the most important words and phrases in Dutch mean;
  • You have a basic understanding of Dutch grammar.

In this course, you will work toward language level A1-. By the end, you will be able to make small talk in Dutch and practice, for example, buying cheese at the market, ordering herring at a fishmonger’s, or buying tulips at a flower stand.
After completing this e-learning course, you can continue with the Dutch e-learning, Level 2. You can also sign up for The complete Dutch e-learning package for levels 1, 2, and 3.

How do I know which Dutch language level suits me?

To make sure you enrol at the right level, you can take our free placement test. This test will help you assess your current level of Dutch. Once you’ve completed it, the test will be marked by one of our experienced teachers, who will provide you with personalised feedback. That way, you’ll know exactly which level suits you best.

Can I catch up on a missed Dutch class?

Unfortunately, in group courses it is not possible to make up a missed lesson, because the lessons take place at fixed times for the whole group. Through the lesson materials, homework and lesson plan in MyBabel, you can work through the missed material independently so that you can continue to follow the course well.

Can I pay for my Dutch course in installments?

You pay the course fee in a single payment. You can do this upon registration via iDEAL, credit card, or by having your employer pay the invoice.

How flexible is a language course via e-learning?

With e-learning, you take classes when and where it suits you. Many students choose e-learning because they want to combine targeted learning with work, study or a busy family life. You largely determine your own pace and can often start immediately.
