Would you like to learn Mandarin Chinese and master all aspects of the Chinese language? In our Chinese courses for beginners (courses 1 to 5), you will build a solid foundation that will enable you to function well in everyday situations. Lessons on location
Have you opted for lessons in person ? Then you will follow your Chinese course in small groups at our historic location in the center of Utrecht. Our building is very centrally located and easily accessible. Would you rather take the car? We offer ample parking at no cost.

Lessons in the virtual classroom
Would you rather take lessons from home? Then choose the virtual classroom. Together with fellow students, you will take online lessons led by an experienced language teacher. In addition to all the possibilities of a real classroom, the virtual classroom also offers fun online tools, such as an interactive whiteboard and live quizzes.

Did you know this about the Chinese language?

Although we often refer to “Chinese” when we mean the language, Mandarin is the official name of the language.
Mandarin contains many dialects that can differ greatly from one another. If you take a Chinese language course at Babel, you will mainly be dealing with Standard Mandarin. This language is the most widely spoken variant of Chinese and is used in education and government..
The sound of a Chinese word in Mandarin can also be written using letters from our alphabet. This is called “Pinyin”.
Did you know that a syllable in Chinese can have many different meanings? The meaning depends on the tone at which it is pronounced and its position in the sentence.
