Chinese 6 course (A2- → A2)

Level: Intermediate (A2/B1)

Have you taken the Chinese level 5 course and want to further develop yourself? Or do you have knowledge of Chinese in another way and want to take your language skills to the next level? In this course, you will work towards language level A2. This course also prepares you for the globally recognised Chinese HSK level 2 exam.

About Chinese 6

The Chinese level 6 course gives you the opportunity to reach the level for the HSK 2 exam. HSK exam is an international test to assess the Chinese language proficiency of non -native Chinese speakers.

In this course you will:

  • develop your speaking and listening skills
  • learn how to use previously acquired knowledge and vocabulary in conversations about everyday topics
  • get prepared for the Chinese HSK level 2 exam.

This course follows on Chinese level 5, but can also be taken separately if you have A2- level. Not sure what your language level is? Then take our free placement test.

Learning goals

In the Chinese level 6 course, you will work towards language level A2.

After completing this course you will:

  • be able to express your opinion on everyday topics.
  • be able to hold a simple conversation in Chinese without difficulty.
  • know how to use sentence patterns and grammatical topics belonging to HSK 2 correctly.
  • be optimally prepared for a stay in China for your studies, work and travel.

Method

  • As a teaching method, we use the book Standard course HSK 2. You will need both the textbook and the workbook.
  • In the last lesson, you take a mock HSK level 2 exam. This exam allows you to test whether your level is good enough to pass the exam.
  • During the lessons, the focus is on speaking and listening skills.

Time investment

  • Chinese 6 consists of 9 sessions of 1,5 hours at Babel in Utrecht or in the virtual classroom.
  • To ensure that you learn as much as possible from the classes, you should expect to spend approximately 2 to 3 hours per week on study and the completion of materials and assignments, which will be discussed during the classes.

Practical

  • The language of instruction is Dutch.
  • You can order the necessary books for this course via our website’s Order Books page. You should make sure to have the book before the start of the first lesson.
