Language Booster Speaking B2 Dutch

Do you have a solid foundation in Dutch, but find that speaking doesn’t come naturally yet? Do you find it difficult to express yourself fluently and in a nuanced manner? Do you sometimes doubt your phrasing or grammatical choices?
The Language Booster Speaking B2 has been specially developed for those who are already on their way to high-level language proficiency but need that final push to speak with more confidence and precision.
During this booster course, you will work in a targeted manner on improving your speaking skills in your daily life and in your professional environments. You will focus on what you need right now: learning to speak more fluently, correctly and with more confidence at B2 level.
About the course
The Language Booster Speaking B2 is designed to develop your speaking skills to level B2. Each week focuses on a current or relevant theme, such as sustainability, science, work, culture, international cooperation or social issues. You will work on various speaking assignments, such as giving a presentation, participating in a debate or discussion, and simulating practical situations through role-playing.
The course is intended for participants who have successfully completed our Advanced Dutch (B2) course but want to further improve their speaking skills. Have you not taken a course with us before? Then we ask you to take the free entrance test so that we can be sure you are entering at the right level.
Our courses are aimed at higher professional education and university graduates, which means that the learning pace is relatively high.
Learning objectives
In this course, you will work on refining and strengthening your speaking skills at language level B2.
After completing the Language Booster:
- You will have a broader vocabulary
- Your pronunciation will have improved
- You will speak more fluently and with fewer hesitations
- You will be able to express yourself more grammatically correctly
- You will be able to engage in conversations and presentations with more confidence
Method
You will learn effectively because you will be working with teaching materials designed by Babel both at home and in class. During the first lesson, you will also receive a reader that we will mainly use during the lessons. You will do preparatory work at home so that there is plenty of time to practise and deepen your knowledge during the lessons.
Time investment
The course consists of eight sessions of one hour and 45 minutes at Babel in Utrecht.
To ensure that you get the most out of the course, we expect you to spend approximately four hours per week on self-study. You will complete assignments at home in preparation for the next session.
- The course is taught in Dutch.
- The course specifically guides you to level B2 for the speaking component. If you successfully complete the course, you will have reached the level required for the State Examination in Dutch Programme II in the area of speaking. It is important to note that this TaalBooster is not an exam training. During the lessons, we do not practise the specific speaking exercises that appear in the exam.
- You will receive a certificate if you have attended at least 80% of the sessions and completed the homework assignments.
