Prepare yourself and obtain your B2+ certificate for medical professionals.
Would you like to work as a medical professional in the Dutch healthcare sector? Are you academically trained and do you need a B2+ certificate for your BIG registration? A language certificate at B2+ level is mandatory for registration in the BIG register.
This course will take your Dutch from B2 to B2+. You will work specifically towards the Dutch for Medical Professionals exam (B2+). After successfully completing the course, you will have obtained the B2+ language certificate.
Dutch for medical professionals
In this course, you will work purposefully on your language skills at B2+ level: reading, listening, writing, and speaking. You will expand your vocabulary, sharpen your grammar, and practice with texts and situations from your field, such as nutrition, psychology, and ethics. Thanks to practice tests for the reading & writing and listening & speaking sub-exams, you will know exactly what to expect.
In the final lessons, you will take the tests for the Dutch language certificate for medical professionals (B2+). This will be an important step towards independence and recognition in your profession.
What will you learn in this course?
In this course, you will work towards language level B2+ and obtaining your B2+ certificate. After completing the course:
- you will have a more extensive professional vocabulary
- you will write and speak more grammatically correctly
- you will obtain your B2+ Dutch Language Certificate for Medical Professionals (B2+)
This course prepares you specifically for the Dutch Language Certificate for Medical Professionals (B2+) exam. In the lessons, you will work step by step on the skills you need for the test.
During the meetings, you will work in pairs or small groups on practical assignments. An experienced teacher will provide intensive guidance and targeted feedback.
You will follow the course using the teaching method, a supplementary reader, and online material.
Classes and self-study
The Medical Dutch B2+ course consists of 20 lessons of 2 hours each, at Babel in Utrecht or online in the virtual classroom.
To make real progress, we ask you to invest time outside the class as well: approximately 3 to 4 hours per week of self-study. You will receive assignments and teaching materials to help you continue practicing at home and reinforce your own learning process.
Good to know
- Language of instruction: Dutch
- Group size: maximum of 10 students (Utrecht location) or 8 students (online)
- Teaching materials: you can purchase the book here. You will receive the reader from your teacher during the first lesson.
- Certificate: In lesson 18, you will take the B2+ reading and writing tests. In lessons 19 and 20, you will take the individual listening and speaking tests. If you
- pass both parts, you will receive the B2+ language certificate.
