Welcome to the Babel/TNO English language course page! Below you will find key information about our courses and how to register, as well as important practical details about locations and scheduling.

Please do not delay in signing up if you have been recommended to take one of our courses and this has been approved by your manager.

English pre-intermediate (A1 > A2)

This course is set at pre-intermediate level (A2 on the CEFR) and will cover all four language areas (reading, speaking, writing, and listening). The focus will be on practical workplace tasks such as

  • speaking with more confidence with international colleagues
  • writing standard professional emails in English
  • listening and responding to phone and video calls in English

Your trainer will provide you with regular feedback and support, as well as the chance to discuss how you feel the course is going.

Register for English pre-intermediate (A1 > A2)


English intermediate (A2 > B1)

This course is set at intermediate level (B1 on the CEFR) and will cover all four language areas (reading, speaking, writing and listening). The focus will be on practical workplace tasks such as

  • participating with more confidence during meetings and presentations in English
  • using a wider range of professional vocabulary in your writing and speech
  • listening and responding to phone and video calls in English

Your trainer will provide you with regular feedback and support, as well as the chance to discuss how you feel the course is going.

Register for English intermediate (A2 > B1)


English upper-intermediate (B1 > B2)

This course is set at upper-intermediate level (B2 on the CEFR) and will cover all four language areas (reading, speaking, writing, and listening). The focus will be on practical workplace tasks such as:

  • using more complex language and vocabulary in your professional writing and presentations
  • writing reports and other professional texts
  • English as a workplace language: engaging more naturally with international colleagues
  • listening and responding to non-standard phone calls and video calls in English

Your trainer will provide you with regular feedback and support, as well as the chance to discuss how you feel the course is going.
