About the Business English HR (blended) course

The HR Business English blended course helps you to develop your intercultural communication skills in English at B1-B2 level and is suitable for employees who regularly use English in an international human resources environment.

You will learn new HR vocabulary, have discussions and participate in role plays on conducting job interviews, giving performance assessments, discussing HR strategy, staffing needs and training plans in meetings, delivering counselling in presentations and over the phone.

Learning goals

The course aims to develop and improve HR Business English language and professional skills at a B1+ to B2+ level. At the end of the course, you will be able to express yourself better in a variety of HR situations both orally and in writing.

This course is applicable if you have at least level B1+ CEF score for the language structures, writing and self-assessment components. To ensure you have the required level, please complete our online placement test.

In the face-to-face meetings, you will develop your fluency by having conversations and discussions and doing roleplays on HR related subjects. In the online modules, you will be listening to realistic extracts and completing interactive exercises to enhance your vocabulary and practise using useful phrases. The online modules will be a combination of self-study as well as online interaction with fellow participants. This course will provide you with the confidence you need to speak and write in English on HR related subjects.

Method

This blended course consists of developing both speaking fluency and written communication. HR related vocabulary will be enlarged and consolidated throughout the course. There is a balance between 4 online modules for 12 hours and two full days of face-to face interactive sessions (see schedule). Participants will receive feedback from the trainer on their speaking and writing skills.

Time Investment

The course is aimed to last 6 weeks, however you will have access to the course for a period of three months. This way, you are free to organise your time flexibly. The advised self-study load is 3 hours per week.

Practical

The language of instruction is English.

You will receive a certificate of attendance if you have completed 5 of the 6 modules and attended both face-to-face sessions.
