About the Orientation Dutch labour market course
Dutch Labour-Market Orientation is one part of the Dutch citizenship test. This test consists of an interview based on a portfolio made by the candidate. The portfolio and the interview together allow the candidate to show that they understand the Dutch labour market and have considered the kind of job they would like to have in the future. In this way, they can make a good start on the Dutch labour market. This course prepares you for this test.
In this course you are required to complete a portfolio, which is a major requirement of your citizenship test. You can follow this course if you have successfully completed the B1 Dutch course or if your entry language test shows that you already have B1.
After completing the Dutch Labour-Market Orientation test you:
- are familiar with the Dutch labour market,
- have completed a portfolio geared to the profession of your choice,
- are aware of the steps you need to take to find suitable employment,
- are ready to sit the Dutch Labour-Market Orientation test.
The lessons are interactive and participants are expected to contribute actively. We strongly believe that each person has a special contribution to make. During the course, you will discover where your talents lie and how you can best use them in a Dutch environment.
During the course, you will receive support from the group and individual coaching on your portfolio. Your personal interests and experiences should serve as input for your exploration of the Dutch labour market. Furthermore, you will learn how to find job openings, compile a cv and compose an attractive letter of application. You yourself are responsible for actively looking for suitable vacancies and/or courses that will prepare you for future employment. In addition, you will practise the interview which is part the Dutch Labour-Market Orientation (ONA) test.
