Academic Writing: Style

Academic Writing: Style

Course content

Academic Writing: StyleDo you want to join the academic writing community? This practical, short 2-session writing course helps you to improve your academic writing style. You will become aware of the differences between formal and informal style. You will learn how to avoid being overly wordy and write more to the point. Other style issues that will be addressed are: biased language, repetition and sentence structure. In class, you will put newly acquired knowledge into practice straightaway, for example, you will be pruning overly wordy texts together and actively turning informal texts into more formal ones. You can also work on your own texts, so please bring your own work to these sessions.
